C5 (Cleveland Clinic Cardiovascular Coordinating Center) was established in the early 1990s by Dr. Eric Topol. Dr. Steven Nissen was
C5 Medical Director from 2000 through 2005, and in 2006, A. Michael Lincoff, MD, became
C5’s Medical Director and several associate directors were added. In 2007,
C5 became the Academic Research Organization for the Cleveland Clinic and changed its name to
C5Research (Cleveland Clinic Coordinating Center for Clinical Research). Since 1993 we have provided academic leadership and coordination of several trials ranging in size from <100 to 20,000. In total, over 1000 sites and 100,000 patients have been enrolled in our trials.
